Yoga Nidra – also known as yogic sleep – is a conscious relaxation practice intended to induce total physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. Aside from being relaxing, restorative and restful, studies have also shown that Yoga Nidra can be beneficial when dealing with insomnia, anxiety, stress, PTSD, chronic pain and several other conditions. Yoga Nidra is practiced lying down with your eyes closed, and I encourage you to use props like a bolster, a pillow, a blanket or an eye pillow to make sure that you can fully let go in a comfortable position.
